This resource is branded as, ‘e-mentoring for diversity in engineering and science.’ This site presents an opportunity to choose a mentoring relationship, not only from within the organizations that you are a part of locally, but based on other factors like fit, specific interest, and identity. In many fields, including the STEM fields, professionals from marginalized and underrepresented communities can feel isolated or misunderstood by their local counterparts. Mentor Net provides a unique opportunity to move beyond the limits of physical proximity to find a mentor/mentee that can provide support, encouragement, confidence and information.
