Hello! My name is Evelyn Nigon and I am currently a sophomore English and Communications major at St. Kate’s. I am from Faribault Minnesota but really enjoy living and exploring the cities during the school year. Some of my favorite things to do include climbing, reading, kayaking, and spending time with friends. I have participated in the clay club on campus, but with all of the crazy changes that occurred last spring, I lost the chance to join other clubs and activities, like the study abroad program, which I plan to participate in sometime next year!
Here in the Career Development Center office, my main focus is on posting information to our social media sites. I create graphics, organize, and schedule all of the content that we share. My goal is to make our social media platforms a place where it is easy to find information about career development and events we are sponsoring. Much of the information shared on social media are condensed versions of resources we offer in the Career Development Center. If anything strikes your interest, reach out to us. Chances are good that we have more in-depth information!
Most often I can be found in the back offices of the Career Development Center and would love to assist you in any way. The Career Development office is here to make your career aspirations more easily attainable, so we would love to meet you!
Hey y’all, I’m Mel, a first-year here at St. Kates. I’m majoring in Political Science/Public Policy and minoring in Professional Writing and Communications. I moved to St. Paul from Finlayson, a rural town up North. I enjoy kayaking, painting, writing, hiking, and getting Boba with my friends (also, being addicted to TikTok is a relatable hobby of mine). If you know of any good hiking trails in the area, let me know!
As a relatively new member of the Career Development team, I have mostly been scheduling appointments and answering emails. During this semester, I have been lucky enough to get trained as a peer advisor for our resume review program. I also have had lots of opportunities to stretch my creative legs making banners and posters for our website.
Hi! My name is Emma Seehafer, and I am a History major, English minor. I am currently a junior at St Kate’s. I am planning to get my Paralegal Certificate and a Master’s in Legal Studies following my time at St. Kate’s.
I am excited to work at the Career Development Center because I can use my love of planning and organizing. I am also happy to learn all of the information that my peers and coworkers have to offer. I am excited to share the massive amount of career resources the Career Development Center has with everyone at St Kate’s.
Hi! I’m Sam Orth! I’m a junior at St. Kate’s majoring in Exercise and Sport Science, and I get to start the DPT program in fall 2021. I also play basketball at St. Kate’s. I love to be active and busy, but I also love to have some downtime to watch TV or just relax. I’m originally from Maple Grove, MN and I currently live in Minneapolis with my roommates.
I’m super excited to be a part of the Career Development team at St. Kate’s! I’m hoping to develop my skills and use my interest in data management and analysis to help the Career Development Staff and St. Kate’s students and alum!
Hi! My name is Shavonnye Rath and I am a 3rd year at St. Kate’s. I am studying Exercise and Sport Science on a Pre-Physical Therapy track. Some of my hobbies include working out, reading, listening to music, hanging out with friends and family, and thoroughly cleaning my car! I am from Savage, MN but graduated from Burnsville HS. I currently live in St. Paul right by campus with my 2 roommates, one is also a Katie and the other is a Tommie.
I am excited to be a career assistant in the Career Development Center at St. Kate’s because I think it is an incredible resource for students in all stages of their lives/education. I am excited to learn and develop skills to better help my colleagues and community!
Hello! Good morning/afternoon/evening!
I’m Maria Ngangsic-Asongu and I’m a sophomore here at St. Kate’s. I’m majoring in International Business & Economics and I’m minoring in Computer Science. I also work on campus at Career Development (definitely come in and say hi!).
Some interesting facts about me:
- My favorite colors is purple.
- Teal and Pink are close seconds and thirds.
- I love to cook and bake. I’ve made everything from casseroles to croissants.
- For some reason I can’t cook rice.
- I’ve studied French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and ASL
- I wish I could say I was fluent in all, but alas, I am merely monolingual.
- I cannot see a thing without my glasses. I’m eternally grateful to whoever invented them.
Morgan Shelley (they/them)
Greetings! My name is Morgan Shelley (pronouns: they/them, I don’t go by any other pronouns, so I ask that you don’t use any other pronouns for me, thank you) and I am a fourth-year majoring in english and minoring in history. I’m from Chicago, which is approximately 400 miles away from St. Paul, and I was originally a pre-nursing major when I first arrived at St. Kate’s. The weather here is slightly colder, but it isn’t very different from home! (Minnesota itself is, though.)
I have been with Career Development as a peer advisor for almost a year and I have learned so much about careers, education and myself while working here. If you ever wander by our office to grab Starbucks or schedule a resume/cover letter appointment, there’s a good chance you’ll see me!
Some things I love include but are certainly not limited to astrology (I’m a Pisces!), the owl house, writing (I write for The Wheel, our school paper), cats (I’ve got two!), the moon, thunderstorms, and naps, which I never seem to take now that I’m so close to graduating! I’m also a big k-pop and anime hyperfocuser. Updating my resume also makes me really happy because I love organizing things.
Hi, my name is Ana (Ah-nuh) Pereira. I’m a second-year majoring in English with a minor in Communication Studies. I love to go to concerts, soccer games, and movie theatres, especially drive-in ones. Recently I’ve been trying to get into nature by doing activities like hiking and camping, which I enjoy doing. I’m from Austell (20-25 minutes from Atlanta, GA), but I live on campus.
I’m happy to be working at the Career Development Center, where everyone is nice and friendly to each other. I look forward to developing professionalism and good communication skills.
