Job description
This position would provide support for our Paint crew over the summer, which is an especially busy season for this work on campus. This position operates under the broader umbrella of Facilities Management, specifically our skilled trades. We take care of all buildings, grounds, and major (non-IT) campus infrastructure.
Major Job Duties:
- Summer apartment/residence hall turns – painting and restoring
- Prepping and taping spaces prior to painting
- Exterior finish maintenance: handrails, fence doors, etc.
- Office turnovers
- Moving and covering furniture to facilitate painting
- On-campus supply runs
- Periodic response to paint/finish maintenance work orders and emergent projects
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to keep up with a physical job for a 40hr work week: bending, crouching, lifting, etc.
- Ability to drive an electric utility vehicle (valid driver’s license in good standing)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (esp. summer heat)
- Willingness to learn and take direction from the skilled tradespeople on our Paint staff
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with painting, finishing work, or general maintenance (not required!)
