This position will assist physicians by performing direct and indirect patient care as delegated by the physician and within their scope of practice.
Other responsibilities include:
- Provide direct and indirect care to patients utilizing the nursing process in providing patient care
- Perform secretarial duties such as, answering phones, placing calls, order entry, logging patient information, obtaining old records, and entering charges.
- Assist with cleaning patient treatment areas
- Restock and order supplies for patient treatment areas, kitchenettes, nursing station, and supply carts
- Observe and report changes in the patient’s physical and emotional condition
- Transport patients to appropriate areas
- Keep patient treatment areas, kitchenette, storage areas, and nursing station in order
- Perform medication administration and technical skills within the scope of practice of an MA
- Provide education and reviews discharge instructions for the patient and family
- Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
South Dakota LPN license/ One-year certification in medical assisting preferred. CMA certification preferred.
CPR required.
