We are looking for summer interns who would work alongside at Night Owl Farm and learn about all aspects of sustainable agriculture including soil building and care, bed preparation, greenhouse work, planting, transplanting, cultivating, and harvesting. You will also help with washing and packing vegetables and CSA deliveries. We are very interested in maintaining biodiversity and are in the 6th year of an ongoing project of planting native wildflowers on a large scale to naturalize in our meadows to help our own honeybees as well as native pollinators and butterflies. We foster a nurturing and cooperative workplace environment and believe that a workplace should be a place to learn and make creative connections. Hours are somewhat flexible. No farming experience is necessary, although an ability to work hard outside in all kinds of weather is a requirement, as well as a desire to learn about farming.
We look forward to working with Macalester interns on our CSA farm located in North Branch! We had an amazing experience with a Mac MSIG intern, Louise ’23, and hope to have another wonderful opportunity this summer .. we believe in our work, and hope to share our enthusiasm for sustainable agriculture with more interns from Macalester. This is an unpaid full time internship, unless it is with an MSIG recipient.
