Job Summary:
The Nurse Intern provides operational and administrative assistance to support the Registered Nurse/Nurse Manager. This position will contribute to the business operations of the Company and this opportunity will provide a variety of learning opportunities.
Responsibilities:
· Review medication administration records to ensure proper documentation and follow-up is completed.
· Review appointments to ensure physician recommendations are implemented and all follow-up is completed.
· Prepare mental health referral forms for upcoming medication management appointments.
· Monitor SOM and PRN expiration lists and follow up on expired medications.
· Monitor Health Care Provider schedules and follow up on overdue appointments.
· Assist with medication destruction.
· Assist with tracking SOMs and medical supplies.
· Schedule, prepare materials, and help conduct training classes lead by the Registered Nurse.
· Assist with monitoring Medication Administration recert training compliance.
· Complete follow up calls and faxes with physician’s and pharmacies as needed.
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Pursing an Associate’s degree in Nursing required, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
· Experience working in an administrative role/office setting preferred.
· Proficiency in all Microsoft office applications.

· Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse work environment.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects concurrently.
· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism is required in order to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive and issues.
· Must be adaptable, have self-motivation, and strong follow through skills.

Working Conditions:
· Works in a variety of settings inside or outside the office and at group homes or other company sites.
· Has regular contact with consumers and staff.
· May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset individuals, staff, family members and the general public.
· May be subject to physically aggressive individuals.
· May be exposed to infectious diseases, odors, dust, etc. throughout the day.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Schedule: Business hours Mon-Fri, about 10 hours a week
This position is a part-time non-exempt position, reporting to the Registered Nurse/Nurse Manager.
