Occupational Information Network (O*Net)

O*Net is an occupational information site that gathers data from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics and has been developed under the US Department of Labor/Employment and Training Administration. Some ways to search are, by keyword, industry, career cluster, which occupations have a ‘bright outlook,’ skills/abilities/interests/knowledge/work activities/values, and many more. This site also correlates to searching by Holland Theme Codes.
O*Net also includes information on common career paths within select professions.

This site provides a great deal of information for each listed occupation, such as tasks, education-level, tools used, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and many more. It also links to other websites that provide information concerning average salary by national data and broken down by state comparison
