UNC Hospitals is accepting applications for their Student Nurse Externship program. The Student Nurse Externship is a 10-week, paid summer position for rising senior ADN & BSN nursing students.
Positions are filled as applications are received. Once they are filled, they are removed from the Careers website.
The Student Nurse Extern (SNE) Program provides rising senior nursing students with practical work experiences to facilitate their transition into the role of a registered nurse. Throughout the 10-week paid program, learning and nursing engagement occurs on a 24–36-hour weekly basis in a broad range of acute care, critical care, psychiatry, women’s, & outpatient areas. SNEs gain hands-on experience in:

Application Process
To be eligible, candidates must meet the following requirements by May 21, 2025:
Be enrolled as a rising senior for an ADN or BSN nursing program
Active NA I listing with NC Department of Health and Human Services
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
Program Dates: May 27, 2025 – August 2, 2025
