POSITION PURPOSE:
This position is entry-level with a focus on setting up and tearing down event spaces, including but not limited to the ballroom. This role will be part of the University Setup Crew and will work closely with the Event Logistics Coordinator to understand event setup needs. Team members will represent University Events by maintaining a professional approach through demeanor, and performance.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
SPECIFIC DUTIES & EXPECTATIONS – Setup Crew
- Assist in the successful execution of events through mindful setup of all event spaces throughout various St. Kate’s event spaces.
- Provide strong customer service and problem solving skills
- Perform setup and organizational duties including, lifting, moving, and setting of various sized tables, chairs, and miscellaneous equipment required
- Maintain organization of all event and storage spaces.
- Work in a professional manner acting as a University Events and St. Kate’s representative
- Follow all relevant policies and procedures
- Perform well without supervision
- Attend all Event Setup Crew meetings and scheduled trainings
- Perform other duties as assigned
SPECIFIC DUTIES & EXPECTATIONS – Event Assistant
- Setup, operate, secure, and care for sound, projection, video, and facilities equipment
- Assist in the successful execution of events through mindful technology setup of all event spaces
- Provide strong customer service and problem solving skills
- Perform setup and organizational duties including managing event technology and assisting
guests with audio visual needs, including PowerPoint presentations, video recording, and more - Maintain organization of event and tech spaces
- Work in a professional manner acting as a University Events and St. Kate’s representative
- Follow all relevant policies and procedures
- Perform well without supervision
- Attend all Event Assistant meetings and scheduled trainings
- Become knowledgeable of emergency building procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Willingness to learn through hands-on experience
- Comfortable lifting 20 pounds
- Must carry at least six undergraduate credit hours
- If a graduate student – work study is available, but you must be half-time or more
- Strong sense of professional courtesy and customer service
- Available to work flexible hours including weekdays, evenings, and weekends (including required trainings)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Interest in facilities and event operations
- Experience with AV technology
