Position description:

The CWL Civic Engagement Student Coordinator will support the civic engagement efforts across St. Catherine University, facilitated by CWL, the Civic Engagement Collective, and other collaborations on and off campus. CWL Civic Engagement Student Coordinator will also connect to any community-engaged learning courses with a voting/civic focus, and support the development of and recruitment for the St. Kate’s Civic Engagement Fellowship (SCEF) Cohort.

Background:
Community Work & Learning builds connections among community members, students, faculty and staff so we can learn from each other and work together for social justice. We collaborate with partner organizations to offer programming that benefits the local community while providing students with meaningful learning, professional development, and leadership opportunities.

St. Kate’s Civic Engagement Fellowship (SCEF) is a fellowship that allows St. Kate’s to promote civic engagement through its many forms. Student fellows will collaboratively lead project-based efforts to engage our campus community in democratic/civic education and practices.

The Civic Engagement Collective — made up of students, faculty, and staff — works to create a vibrant, engaging, and respectful campus, encouraging the St. Kate’s community to get involved in our democracy in a variety of ways. Each year the Collective provides voting information and hosts events to facilitate civic learning, skills, and discussions.
