This part-time, 18.5 hours/week job, is based at the cozy East Springfield Branch Library, located in a residential area that combines a diverse housing stock, many parks and schools, restaurants, and easy access to health care, Downtown Springfield, and interstate highways alike. The Reference Librarian is part of a six person branch team and has shared responsibility for reference services, reader’s advisory, tech assistance, collection maintenance of print and non-print materials, programming, outreach, community engagement, and similar duties pertaining to adult and/or youth services, with programming focused on adults. Work is performed under the direction of the Branch Supervisor and the Branch Manager.
