Job Summary
Reach for Resources is seeking to hire a full-time Mental Health Practitioner to work in two mental health programs: Children’s Mental Health Targeted Case Management (CMH-TCM), Family and Parenting Development (FPD). Within this position, the Mental Health Practitioner would have a mixed caseload depending on program need. Currently, the need is primarily in the FPD program as a Parenting Skills Educator. Services are primarily provided during daytime hours with occasional evenings and weekends based on client need.
Within the FPD program, the practitioner would have an Educator role and work with parents with active Child Protection cases to provide in-home parenting education as well as guided and directed parent-child interaction sessions and observations. Skills taught to parents include those around child development, child/family safety, domestic violence, substance use, and positive discipline techniques. Services may be provided virtually and/or in person, based on parent/guardian preference.
The practitioner within the CMH-TCM program would act as Case Manager and provide case management services to families with children ages 5-21 diagnosed with a severe emotional disturbance that may also have a cognitive impairment. This role helps the children and their families obtain and coordinate therapeutic and supportive services that address the child’s mental health concerns and related social, recreational, health, educational, and vocational needs.
Education Requirements:
BA/BS in psychology, social work, human development, or related mental health degree AND two years’ experience providing mental health services to adults and children under clinical supervision. Must meet criteria for a Mental Health Practitioner as outlined in MN Statute.
