Job Description:

Clinical research coordinator position working with PI: Sunny Tang, M.D. Ongoing projects seek to understand and improve treatments for psychiatric disorders. Primary project will involve investigation of linguistic biomarkers of psychosis and other psychiatric conditions. The research coordinator will recruit participants from inpatient and outpatient settings, conduct standardized and semi-structured assessments, provide clinical ratings, and ensure proper data quality and storage. They will receive training on standardized clinical scales and diagnostic assessments. The coordinator will also be responsible for IRB correspondences and study submissions. Work setting is primarily at an academic psychiatric hospital setting, though some duties may involve work in other clinical settings (emergency room, medical hospital). Salary is $45k yearly with full benefits for full time work. Start date: Early to Mid-June 2023. Will consider full-time or 80% part-time (4-days a week) employment.

Job Responsibility:

1. Assists in the recruitment of subjects, execution and scheduling of study procedures in clinical research projects.

2. Assists with coordination of a designated study or group of studies. In research projects, assists in the collection and processing of data. Keeps accurate and up-to-date records.

3. Administers and scores assessments as assigned and as related to study protocol as appropriate.

4. Interfaces with the Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) in the submission of study requirements, as necessary.

5. Follows protocol as developed. Keeps investigator or supervising coordinator informed of changes and other developments.

6. Liaises with agencies including: IRB, OGC, pharmaceutical companies, laboratories, and equipment and supply companies, as needed.

7. Updates and maintains data related to research project; Performs queries and manipulations of data as needed for research project.

8. Performs related duties, as required.

9. Opportunities for participation in data analysis, presentations and manuscript preparation for motivated candidates.

Job Qualifications:

Strong people skills, comfort working with mentally ill patients, and organizational skills required.

Prefer experience with one or more of the following:

Human subjects research

Database management

Data analysis

RedCAP

Psychology/psychiatry/Neuroscience

Linguistics
