Northstar Mental Health Services works alongside the rest of the Northstar team in providing mental health services to those experiencing emotional distress and other mental health concerns that are interfering with their lives and overall well-being. Our integrated team of professionals works with clients individually, in couples, with family, and in group settings. We are looking for individuals that possess the ability to provide psychotherapy to clients and help them to become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well, and spiritually alive.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential Functions)
- Provide individual therapy, group therapy, family programming, and case management that addresses the goals established on the treatment plan.
- Document services provided in the appropriate clinical forms in Procentive and on paper. Documentation will be completed according to NBH policies and procedures and standards established by governing bodies.
- Document case activity notes and important information.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans that meet the individual needs of the client. Treatment plans will be completed in accordance with NBH policies and procedures and standards established by governing bodies.
- Complete and document assessments in accordance with NBH policies and procedures and standards established by governing bodies.
- Participate in weekly case staffing meetings and supervision meetings.
- Work cooperatively with outside agencies.
- Discharge duties in accordance with contracts, licensure standards, and NBH policies and procedures.
- Exhibits knowledge of core competencies in relation to working with co-occurring disorders through continuing education and implementing skills into all aspects of treatment.
- Maintain good standing and enrollment in graduate institution placing the intern.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- Currently not accepting applicants in their Foundational Practicum
Required Skills and Experience: (Minimum requirements in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge skills and abilities)
- Be in internship/practicum course with an approved educational entity
- CPR Certification or attain within 30 days
- Must have 2 years of freedom from chemical use problems
- Must pass a State of Minnesota Background Check
- Must possess a current Minnesota Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
- Ability to use Google Drive and other computer skills

- Familiar with Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT) Model
- Motivational Interviewing Approach
- Familiar with Procentive, Electronic Health Record System
