The U.S. State Department is looking for Youth Ambassadors (U.S. citizens ages 18-29) who will serve as guides and cultural diplomats at the U.S. Pavilion at the World Expo in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from October 2021 through April 2022.
This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity would be perfect for graduating seniors or recent graduates interested in gaining unique international experience before graduate school or before beginning their professional career.
At the Expo, Youth Ambassadors will be the human connection to the United States and its territories, reflecting its geographic and cultural diversity. Youth Ambassadors must be energetic, friendly, and people-oriented, as they will serve as the “Faces of America” to millions of Expo visitors. They can expect to have daily encounters with international visitors who may speak one or several languages.
Language abilities are an asset, but not required in order to apply to become a Youth Ambassador.
Meals, housing, and a stipend of $300 per week will be provided.
The selected Youth Ambassadors will be split into 3 cohorts:
· Full-Term cohort: September 16, 2021 – April 2, 2022*
· Fall 2021 cohort: September 16, 2021 – January 16, 2022*
· Spring 2022 cohort: January 8, 2022 – April 2, 2022*

- contact information of 4 references (2 professional, 2 character)
- a resume or CV
- an unofficial transcript of your current or most recently completed degree
- a “one-way interview” video submission of yourself (max. 15 minutes)
Only complete submissions will be accepted.
Submissions will be reviewed and status updates may be sent periodically. After completion, each application will undergo a thorough review process that may include interviews and potentially additional submissions.
