Position Overview:

Dependable is looking for Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with a fun and active female in her 20’s. This young person is looking for the right Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help with meal preparation, assisting with personal cares such as bathing, toileting and dressing. This individual has no critical medical issues and takes medications in the morning and at bedtime. She has great upper body strength but some assistance with lifting is needed for transfers. This individual loves her routine and independent activities like working on her iPad, sorting kits, coloring, and watching movies (Princess Diaries, Shrek, etc.) She also loves board games like Uno, Sorry, and puzzles. In the kitchen she likes to help make cookies and other baked treats. Her diet is well balanced with well-prepared foods with fresh ingredients and clearly laid out to avoid confusion. One of her other fun activities she likes to do is take walks with staff around the neighborhood and make small trips to the nearby grocery store in downtown Hopkins. Overall, she is a fun lady with a great sense of humor. Positions available are: Weekends first shift and second shift (9am-3pm, 3pm-10pm).

Pay Rate: $15/hr

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass a Department of Human Services background check
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Strength in flexibility and problem solving
  • Applicants must have a passion for helping the individuals we support by helping them feel happy, successful, and safe in their lives
  • Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is welcomed, but not required
