Minnesota Alliance With Youth (“the Alliance”) works in partnership with youth to ensure that ALL young people have
equitable educational opportunities that foster their individual assets, honor their voices, and prepare them to reach their

Position Overview
The Recruitment Coordinator will work with the AmeriCorps team to achieve member enrollment objectives and goals.
This role will provide a high level of relationship building and focus on efforts to promote and expand the Alliance’s
AmeriCorps programs. The Recruitment Coordinator will report to our Recruitment Manager and provide strategic and
tactical recruitment support.
Responsibilities
Essential functions include:
● Support strategic equity, diversity, and inclusion efforts at the Alliance and perform all essential functions with an
equity lens
● AmeriCorps Recruitment Coordination
○ Source, screen, interview, and recommend candidates
○ Coordinate interview and selection process
■ Manage interview preparation (create schedules, materials, etc) and follow-up
■ Organize the system for reviewing fully interviewed candidates
○ Attend college and community career fairs
○ Maintain up to date and accurate postings across local, regional and national job boards
○ Partner with community organizations and schools in recruitment efforts
○ Coordinate AmeriCorps candidate interview and offer process
○ Provide CRM system (customer relationship management) support
○ Develop and coordinate outreach efforts for a stronger pipeline of candidates and members
■ Maintain and develop process to ensure robust outreach to interested candidates
○ Support the Recruitment Manager with overall recruitment strategy
● Work closely with the Recruitment Manager and program teams to match members with the right site
● Participate in outreach opportunities as assigned
○ Support the Recruitment Manager with developing and coordinating outreach efforts for a stronger
pipeline of candidates/members and to raise the profile of of AmeriCorps service
● Participate on project teams or assignments as assigned
○ Support host site visits and host site recruitment efforts
○ Support attendance at ServeMN program meetings
○ Participate in program meetings
Qualifications
● Demonstrated experience understanding the impact of institutional and structural racism and bias on multiple
communities, especially communities of color, in using diversity and inclusion best practices in consideration of
outcomes of recruitment outreach programs
● Commitment to Alliance’s core values of equity, quality, and collaboration
● At least three (3) years of related experience (HR, recruitment, nonprofit, youth development, or related field)
○ A combination of education and experience may be substituted
● Experience as an AmeriCorps member is valued, but not required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
● Experience working with youth and a strong commitment to creating spaces for youth voice and success
● Organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
● Interpersonal skills: able to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and by email with Alliance
constituents, including AmeriCorps members, host site supervisors, and community partners
● Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving
● Resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
● Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
● Adaptability and flexibility with various competing demands
● Ability to maintain accurate records, tracking systems, files, etc.
● Experience working in an office setting and organizing a program/project
● Proficient in database/spreadsheets, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint), Adobe Acrobat,
Social Media web platforms and job posting sites
Typical Work Environment
The physical demands described here represent those that an individual must meet to perform the essential functions of
this job successfully.
● Note: The Alliance currently offices out of Coco, a coworking workspace in Northeast Minneapolis. Our team
practices a hybrid work style, with staff working in-office a recommended 2-3 days a week. Work spaces on-site
include a shared Alliance office space, open co-working in the main Coco areas, and reservable private meeting
rooms.
● Able to work at a computer for long periods of time
● Able to work in an open office environment
● Able to frequently stand, walk, sit, and climb in performing duties in the office and for onsite and offsite meetings
and events
● Able to maintain the regular operation of normal office machines (telephone, computer, copier, and other office
machines) is required
● Able to work independently with minimal supervision
● Able to travel for career and community fairs
● Able to occasional work evening and weekends for meetings and events
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range is $42,423.06 – $47,747.52, plus excellent benefit package. 40 hours per week/52 weeks per year. Office
located in NE Minneapolis, MN – Hybrid Work schedule is available.
